Chocolate Banana Oatmeal with Chia Seeds

Oatmeal is another of my favorite breakfast foods ever because it’s filling, scrumptious, and makes my stomach feel better in the early morning. Oatmeal aids in digestion because it provides fiber to the body. Oatmeal helps reduce cardiovascular issues and lowers cholesterol. It is a nutritious meal that can be altered to any preference. I like to add one small banana to my oatmeal while cooking, so the banana naturally sweetens the oats. Feel free to add half a banana and refrigerate the rest for a snack later. I love to top my hot oatmeal with a sprinkle of chia seeds, sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or granola. You can add any fruit toppings of your choice.

Here is the recipe.

Chocolate Banana Oatmeal with Chia Seeds

½ cup rolled oats

½ or 1 small sliced banana

1 tbsp chia seeds

¼ cup blueberries (to top or simmer with the oats)

¼ cup sliced strawberries (to top)

1 tbsp dried coconut flakes

1 tbsp cacao powder

½ tbsp granola (to top)

½ cup to 1 cup rice milk/oat milk/soy milk/cashew milk

Simmer the rolled oats in the milk over low heat. Add chia seeds, sliced banana, coconut flakes, cacao powder, blueberries, and stir continuously for 5 minutes. Transfer to bowls and serve while warm. Add sliced strawberries to top, if preferred.
